Who are you?

My name is Jude! I am passionate about sci-fi, speculative fiction, sludge, the arts, and older media and technology, among other things.

I was born in 2003.

Why neocities? Why a fansite?

Well, for starters, I'm generally disillusioned with most modern social media sites and I wanted to create something I felt more authentically me and honest! Neocities is a place my friends have been using for their own personal projects/fansites, and its approach to the internet (a pre-corporate takeover World Wide Web) really spoke to me.

As for why a fansite, why not?

For real though, it's a medley of factors. I'm a fan of this obscure, nerdy media, and im a fan of oldweb shenaniganery. I also like to do research and deep dives on the internet and see what gets unearthed. The logical next step is to make a neocities and learn to code while I'm at it!

Okay, but why Max specifically?

I first got into Max Headroom a couple years ago. I don't remember if it was through coming across the movie on youtube, or Paranoimia (though I think it was the latter, honestly.)

From there, I kind of became obsessed with this absolute enigma of a character, and I HAD to learn more, which sent me to the shows, and then to the general web! And when I learned just how little activity there really is - no real "fandom" to speak of*, certainly - I thought he would be a perfect subject for a niche website!

*Aside from the one or two actually active fansites, and the Very Small communities on websites like Tumblr and Discord (shouts out to the Wired Society!).
